What’s not to like? RAC is good. Penguin Prison is good. Catchy summer pop jams are good. Throw all that into a blender and out comes “Hollywood,” the new original track from RAC. Known for their bouncy remixes, RAC has chosen to dabble in the world of creating original music from scratch. Enlisting Chris Glover, aka Penguin Prison, for help was a good call. Check out and download the track below.

Wednesday February 23rd, 2011 15:41 The Cool Kids: Bundle Up
Here’s the first single off The Cool Kids’ long-awaited album, When Fish Ride Bicycles, which will be released on Mountain Dew’s Green Label Sound. This innovative record label model:
is preparing to launch an iTunes storefront that will allow listeners to purchase music from certain Green Label Sound artists — and Mountain Dew is waiving the usual label share of the revenue, leaving all income, minus iTunes processing fees, to the artists.

Monday January 17th, 2011 18:14 Freelance Whales: Day Off
I spent my day basking in the laziness that is a day off from work, and enjoying this brand spanking new and very appropriately named Freelance Whales tune. “Day Off” swirls and sways in a way that reminds the listener just how charming this band can be. Download the song below via Green Label Sound.

Goodbye late Sunday blues, and hello new Freelance Whales. The boys and girls from Queens dropped their new single, “Enzymes,” via Green Label Sound. Listen below. Very different from the pop folksy Generator driven sound they perfected on Weathervanes, yet I still dig it. What do you think?
