Surfer Blood are following up one of my favorite albums of 2010 with a new EP, Tarot Classics, this fall. When your debut is a smash it’s never a good idea to rock the boat too much, and “Miranda” shows the guys sticking to what they know best…catchy as hell fuzzed-out power pop. Stream the new tune below and look for Tarot Classics October 25th via Kanine Records. Continuity is good.
Here’s a new track from Mac Miller celebrating his 800k Twitter followers, with some dope production from Clams Casino.
Yes, it’s here. This track is the product of a chance meeting of Justin Vernon and James Blake at SXSW in March. The collaboration from these two artists brings together the slow building, dub-influenced, layered production of Blake with the soulful, emotionally raw vocals from Vernon, resulting in a stunning composition that seems to push beyond the sonic comfort zones featured on their most recent albums. We’re hoping for some sort of release entitled “Enough Thunder” from these two sometime this October.
Florence + The Machine is back with an awesome new song (soccer moms and hipsters alike rejoice!). She hasn’t changed her sound too much with this one, but that’s perfectly fine by me. The band also announced their upcoming album, though didn’t give us any details…and so we wait.
Curren$y teams up with DJ Drama on his latest mixtape, Verde Terrace.

British producer Paul White has released a new album called Rapping With Paul White, featuring verses from Guilty Simpson, Homeboy Sandman, and Danny Brown among others. White’s raw and convoluted production fits perfectly under Brown’s frantic, intricate flow. White produced three tracks on Danny Brown’s dope mixtape XXX (Fools Gold), so let us know what you think of this latest collaboration.
